We are an inter-denominational community who seek to follow Jesus. We exist as a chapter within InterVarsity Christian Fellowship (IVCF). We embrace the purposes of IVCF:
In response to God’s love, grace and truth:
The purpose of Intervarsity Christian Fellowship/USA®
is to establish and advance at colleges and universities
witnessing communities of students and faculty
who follow Jesus as Savior and Lord:
growing in love for God,
God’s Word,
God’s people of every ethnicity and culture,
and God’s purposes in the world.
We seek to know Jesus and to follow Him through service and outreach with an emphasis upon integrating faith, academics, and vocation.
Although we don’t require that everyone agree with the following doctrinal statements to participate, we as a group subscribe to the basic and foundational truths of Biblical Christianity. In agreement with IVCF, these include:
The unique, divine inspiration, entire trustworthiness, and authority of the Bible (II Tim. 3:16,7).
The deity of the Lord Jesus Christ (Col. 1:15,6).
The necessity and efficacy of the substitutionary death of Jesus Christ for the redemption of the world, and the historic fact of his bodily resurrection (Heb. 10:10; 1 Cor. 15:3-5).
The presence and power of the Holy Spirit in the work of regeneration (Titus 3:4-6).
The expectation of the personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ (Rev. 22:12).
To become a diverse Christ-centered community of biblically grounded and Spirit-filled scholars who glorify God and serve in love.
We warmly welcome students, faculty, and scholars of every ethnicity and culture.
Small group gatherings make up the core activities of GCF. We also join periodically with the Johns Hopkins International Fellowship for various activities and events. Subscribe to emails to receive information about these events when they occur.
Join us starting at 7:30 PM at our staff's house in Charles Village! We will begin with fellowship from 7:30 to 8 PM. After that, we will have 10–15 minutes of worship, followed by an hour-long Bible study in smaller groups. We will end the evening with a time of prayer during the final 15 minutes. We aim to finish by 9:30 PM, and attendees are welcome to stick around until 10 PM.
Please see our “Gatherings and Activities” page for more information!
